Pallas and Trail: About the Duo

Pallas and Trail

Sophia Pallas and Julian Trail have performed together since 1989. The duo has been featured in concerts sponsored by Columbia Artists, Community Concerts Association, the National Archives, and the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory. A video recording of their multimedia performance of Gustav Holst's The Planets is in the National Archives permanent collection. Beyond the standard piano ensemble repertoire, the duo has a special interest in orchestral masterpieces originally composed or arranged for piano duet. The duo is based in Washington, DC.

The duo has released two CDs: Imagine (including a video of Chabrier's EspaƱa), and Scenes and Dances.

Ms. Pallas has taught piano at the American University Preparatory Division and her private studio.

Mr. Trail served as Director of the American University Preparatory Division and Applied Music Program. He was Assistant Dean at the Levine School of Music where he is currently a full-time instructor in piano and music theory.
